Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in South Dakota?
Yes! Lillio Academy aligns with the required training categories and can be counted as DSS credit hours towards South Dakota Pathways to Professional Development.
Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted.
Sign up for Lillio Academy to complete your professional development hours at your convenience! You can work at your own pace from wherever you want. Once you complete a course, you can download your certificate!
South Dakota Training Requirements:
In accordance with 67:42:10:06., all providers in the state of South Dakota are required to complete 20 hours of professional development annually. Each program must implement a written training plan. The number of training hours required of staff who are not full-time employees should be proportionate to the number of hours worked.
Training must be obtained in the following areas:
Child growth and development
Detecting and reporting child abuse and neglect
Guidance and behavior management
Food handling techniques
Identification and prevention of communicable diseases
Program health and safety
Nutrition for children
Program management and regulation
Communication and relations with staff
Cultural diversity
Learning environments
Age-appropriate activities and planning
Professionalism
Partnerships with parents
Inclusion of all children
Basic first aid
