Child care associations promote the education and well-being of children, families, and child care providers.

Created in 1993, the Child Care Coalition of Manitoba (CCCM) is a public education and advocacy organization with over 55 group memberships. The CCCM is a broad-based coalition of a variety of both individuals and groups, from parents, women’s groups, and childcare community groups, as well as researchers and educators. The CCCM thrives to achieve community and economic developments along with achieving social justice as it has been stated that the return rate for every dollar invested in quality child care is two dollars in social benefits. The CCCM is a publicly-funded system of the highest quality, which provides reasonable compensations as well as proper working conditions for staff. Efforts put forth by the CCCM are to be accessible to all in the province.

The CCCM believes the word “childcare” stands for much more than the face value definition. Childcare is a term used to describe services that promote care, education, and wellbeing of children from infancy to 12 years of age. Childcare supports both children as well as parents. The CCCM supports inclusivity and accessibility to childcare of the highest quality for Manitoba children, women, and parents.
